It may not have been the most action-packed and thrilling season finale we’ve had for the series, but it was still compelling TV. We witnessed a birth and a death while hearing a shocking secret and noticing the return of a character.
The worst event of the episode was when my ABC station decided to freeze and go to a black screen for a few seconds as Bree made her request to Andrew and when the shocking secret was revealed. If that was the case for you too, I’ve gathered the needed intel for us to be fully in the know as it will be a major storyline next season. That and the return of the person who shall not be named!
Lynette and Eddie
That storyline’s ending left me wanting more as I thought it was too easy and quick of a wrap up. I get that Eddie wanted someone to finally be proud of him and that’s why he agreed to turn himself in but I expected more action from this. We are talking about somewhat of a serial killer after all. How about showing the cops smashing the door, cuffing Eddie and saving Lynette?
Susan and Mike
Don’t be afraid, the Delfinos will still be around next season. Actually, I believe they may be involved in next season’s year-long mystery. More on that in a bit.
The Bolens
Bravo Angie for being one brilliant bomb maker! She put the bomb in the detonator! It was risky as she could have been next to Patrick but the best bet to kill the less people. Bye bye Patrick! I’ve enjoyed Angie, so I’m glad she survived and got a happy ending with Nick. As for Danny, we may see him again next season since he is off to New York City where Ana is.
Bree, Andrew and Orson
It wouldn’t be surprising if the Solises decide to not talk to Bree and family at the start of next season. However, it’s pretty sure that something bad will make them bond again eventually. I felt a bit dumb when Orson told Bree that Andrew committed exactly the same crime he (Orson) committed. Why didn’t it even cross my mind when we were reminded of Andrew running over Carlos’ mother last week?!
It’s understandable that Bree wanted to protect her son but Orson was right that she should have asked Andrew the same thing she asked of him, her husband: pay for his crime. Since Shawn Pyfrom, who plays Andrew, is leaving the series, it’s a safe bet to assume that Andrew will indeed go to jail. Will Orson go back to Bree now that she made things right? I doubt he’ll run back to her. He’ll make her wait a bit.
Teresa’s secret
As I’ve said in my intro, I missed most of the scene at the end where we discover the secret. I did hear that there was a baby switch. After doing a quick research, it seems that I didn’t miss that much of the secret.
I don’t remember if Susan and Mike ever told the sex of MJ when she was pregnant. Right now, my money is on MJ having been switched as a baby while in the hospital. Could it be that MJ was switched with Paige, Dave’s deceased daughter? Or maybe MJ and Roy’s deaf grandson? Yes, it would be difficult to switch a boy and a girl but Susan has been rather unlucky since the start of the series so anything could have happened, no? Plus switching a boy and a girl would explain why the nurse knew for sure the babies were switched.
I doubt it’s one of the older kids (Julie, Danielle, Andrew) since they’ve pretty much gone from the show. But what a twist would it be if Andrew and Sam got switched!!! The Scavos definitely look all alike so it’s less likely it’s one of them. Maybe Penny? It could be possible that one of the Solises kids got switched but the sisters look alike.
Who do you think was switched as a baby? For sure it must involved at least one of the show’s main kids, otherwise it wouldn’t be that powerful of a mystery!

With the season finale airing next week, it is with no surprise that this week’s ‘Desperate Housewives’ was packed with action that moved all major storylines closer to a conclusion.
Patrick put his ultimate plan in motion, Susan and Mike made a decision that surely had some fans go “Noooooooooo!!!”, Lynette discovered the truth about Eddie, Bree tried to get Sam out of her life but Sam fought back.
Patrick’s plan
In flashbacks, we learned new tidbits and were reminded of a few facts about Angie and Patrick: she majored in engineering in college but dropped out; she joined a group of eco-terrorists lead by Patrick and fell in love with him; and she built a bomb for him. In the present, Patrick told Angie that she should be proud of her scar and that he believes she still loves him. Angie said she was not proud of it since a man died, and that she never loved him. I’m pretty sure Angie did love Patrick when they first met but that, during the last 20 years, she fell out of love to a point that she now despises him.
Angie is one tough woman, but Patrick knows exactly which buttons to push to get her to do what he wants. In order to save Danny, Angie agreed to build Patrick another bomb. He claimed he wants to use it in Oregon, but somehow I feel like it may detonate on Wisteria Lane about the same time the cops will circle the house and ask Patrick to surrender.
Susan and Mike’s move
As I’ve said in the intro, I bet a few viewers said “Noooooooooooooo!!!” when they discovered that Susan and Mike were moving off the lane and into an apartment until their finances were better. For the Mike and Susan fans, don’t worry, they’ll be back next season. As Susan said it, they are moving close by so they’ll visit Wisteria Lane. Plus we’ll still see Susan at school where MJ and Juanita go. For the Susan and Mike haters, well, no luck for you as the couple will be back. However, if they do end up moving, it may mean a tiny bit less screen time.
Lynette vs. Eddie
Eddie was right, it was only a matter of time before his mother turned up. Of course, she turned up dead. Lynette had a rather disturbing wake-up call at the end of the episode when she connected the dots and discovered that Eddie killed his mother. She doesn’t know yet that he tried to strangle Susan (but injured Julie instead) and killed three other women, including Irina. It wouldn’t be surprising that Eddie spills the beans next week when Lynette tries to reason with him.
If Eddie will listen to someone, it’ll be Lynette. However, Eddie is in his killer mindset so he will surely not be as receptive at first, but I doubt he’ll try to kill Lynette as fast as he did the others. After all, Lynette is the only woman who loved him and was truly supportive of him. That is, of course, before she discovered the ugly truth. Not to fear, it’s extremely unlikely that Lynette will be killed but you can bet that she won’t get out of there without a bruise or two.
Bree vs. Sam
The scene with the two ex-cops trying to intimidated Sam was quite funny and a welcomed breather in a drama-packed episode. Sadly for Bree, Sam had a secret ace in his pocket and didn’t hesitate to play it: Andrew ran over Carlos’ mother.
Will Bree agree to sign her entire company over to Sam in order to protect Andrew? If not, the Hodges/Van De Kamps will have to face the music. If yes, Bree will more than likely have to work for Sam until she publishes all the books she signed for and Andrew and Orson will surely be out of a job.
Now, it’s possible to watch the things before they happen and it doesn’t cost anything. Save your time and your money and watch current episodes.
‘Desperate Housewives‘ writers should have followed the dialog they wrote for Patrick and try to surprise us because ‘A little Night Music’ was anything but surprising. I expected much better this week since this is, after all, one of the last three episodes of the season.

Even if the episode was a let down, it did push the storylines a bit further and reminded us that you can’t run from your past and lies all your life as they will catch you sooner or later.
Mike’s financial woes
Most of Susan’s plans usually don’t work that well. This time she finally got Mike to not only admit he was broke but agreed to let her help. We don’t know yet if Mike will accept Susan’s money to pay his bills, but it does look like it, no? Gaby and Susan’s plan was a bit over the top, but was a welcomed breather in this very dark episode.
Sam’s motive
The pieces of the puzzle are coming in place. We learned that Sam’s mother is alive, that Rex tried to get full custody of him, and that Sam’s mother didn’t accept Rex’s demand. However, the most important tidbit we’ve learned: Sam is angry at his mother for having prevented him from living with his father, in a great house, with money, etc. Instead of having such a great life, Sam had to live in a trailer and wear mittens when doing his homework because his mother didn’t have the money to pay for heat.
As Bree told Sam a while back, she and Andrew always eventually patch things up. After learning the truth about Sam, Bree told Andrew that he was right about Sam and that she was sorry. Now that mother and son are back together, this means they’ll work hand in hand, with Orson, to bring Sam down.
Bree mentioned that she is scared of Sam but she, Orson and Andrew, are quite creative, so I’m sure they’ll find a way to have Sam leave them alone for good. It won’t be an easy feast since Sam seems to be dead set on his ultimate goal and ready to do anything and everything. Oh, and add to that the fact that it’s May Sweeps and we’ll surely get an explosive confrontation between Sam and Bree. Would he dare to destroy Bree’s office/kitchen since he can’t have the life he wanted?
Eddie’s true nature
Kudos to actor Josh Zuckerman because I was a little bit scared of him when he attacked Porter and when he tried to calm himself down when Tom was going at it to Lynette for not having anything to eat.
It’s great that Lynette wants to help Eddie and shared with him information about her past with her alcoholic mother. Sadly, we all know that Eddie is in dire need of much more help and that he needs to be sent to prison. Lynette will surely learn the truth the hard way, as she’ll surely tell Eddie next week that she tried to find his mother, which will probably make Eddie fire up and try to silence Lynette so she doesn’t learn that he killed his mother.
I’ve always been a fan of Lynette and Tom as a couple, because rare are the couples that truly work in TV drama (most of the times, writers have good couples eventually broke up). However, I was not a happy camper when Tom went off about not having food and then agreed to pay for Eddie’s therapy instead of having everyone try to be nicer to Lynette. Yes, it made me smile to hear Tom agree to pay for therapy instead of being nice, but I was bummed too because I would have expected him to say “I’ll pay and we’ll try to be nicer to you, too.” Can’t he be a bit more appreciative? Yes, Lynette is a stay-at-home mom now, but it’s quite the workload to raise such a big family while being pregnant.
Patrick’s revenge
Patrick is writing the final chapter of his book and wants to surprise his audience. Sadly, as I’ve mentioned in the intro, this week hasn’t been that surprising and that includes everything Patrick did. Running over Nick was so “Orson running over Mike” from a while back. Unoriginal. Patrick threatening to kill Nick if Angie doesn’t do as he says was not surprising either. Let’s hope Patrick’s ultimate plan is more creative because we may end up yawning during the rest of this year-long mystery storyline.
What do you think Patrick will do next since he doesn’t plan to kill Angie, doesn’t seem to want to kill Nick either unless Angie doesn’t cooperate, and wants nothing to do with Danny since he is a tad boring because Angie stole Danny from Patrick? How can he seek revenge without killing any of them? Exposing them to their neighborhood and police? Patrick could have done that without taking Angie hostage by just calling the police with a tip that the Bolens are running from the law.

After months without mentioning the strangler storyline, ‘Desperate Housewives‘
finally let “Evil” back in and treated us not only with hints and, sadly, a new killing, but also with the identity of the culprit!!!
We first saw the person in the second episode of the season.
My immediate instinct was that the strangled was a young man with whom Julie may have had a complicated “thing” with and that I didn’t think it was Julie’s ex (played by Steven Weber). In comments TV Squad readers left to my review of that episode, most fingers were pointed at Danny, McCluskey, Ana, Angie, Roy, and Katherine. Of course, as more episodes aired, people were added to the list while others were removed. Did you guess right? The answer coming up!
And the strangler is…
Eddie!!! So it is a young man as I first predicted. However, I never pointed the finger at Eddie as I later thought that the strangler could be a woman and maybe that there was a copy cat out there. Even if I didn’t pick Eddie as a suspect, the reveal at the end of the episode was not that shocking.
It’ll be interesting to see what were Eddie’s motives to kill the waitress and to strangle Julie. Was he rejected by both as Irina was? I seem to recall him trying to flirt with both ladies earlier this season but I’m not 100% sure. Did he? Eddie sure quickly went somewhere dark in his head when Irina said no to his suggestions and made fun of him. In seconds, he was off the road, killed her and started burying her. It wouldn’t surprise me if Eddie had a troubled childhood during which he was rejected, isolated and even beaten up.
Did you guess Eddie was the strangler? Which hints lead you to believe he was the culprit? Why do you think he killed the waitress and tried to strangle Julie to death? Share your theories in comments below!
Preston – Irina = no more mustache?
Felicity Huffman deserves an Emmy for her work on ‘DH.’ She once again rocked in that last scene where she tells a silent Preston that she would rather have him hate her for the rest of his life than seeing him make the biggest mistake of his life and that she would wait as long as it would take for him to forgive her. Aww …
Now that Irina is out of Preston’s life, will it mean he’ll shave that oh so fake mustache? If not, I hope Lynette makes it her next mission! Maybe she could try to shave it during his sleep?
Bye Bye Lee
I can’t believe Lee is gone. He was one of my favorite characters!!! At least the writers gave the couple a good storyline if that was really their last one together. How sad was it to see Bob and Lee struggle with the news that they lost their egg donor and later see Bob explain to Gaby that Lee was gone and that they had broken up. It’s understandable that Lee is tired of a process as it’s a long and frustrating one, but let’s hope that a few days away from Wisteria Lane shows him that he needs to be with Bob and that he shouldn’t give up.
As good a friend Gaby is to Bob and Lee, I was disappointed to see that she couldn’t tell them the truth about not wanting to give her eggs anymore. Bob and Lee have always been understandable people and would have surely understood that Gaby couldn’t do it anymore as she feared she wouldn’t be able to let go of her child even if, by the law, it wouldn’t have been hers. They would have been disappointed and maybe they wouldn’t have spoken to her for a few days, but I’m sure they would have patched things and make up in the end, no?
Patrick, the novelist
How creepy is Patrick? Not only did he find a way to meet Danny without the latter knowing who Patrick really is, but he planted ideas in Danny’s head as to how their family storyline should end! Without all the facts, Danny suggested that the man should kill the woman in Patrick’s “novel.” Only thing is that the man is really Patrick and that Danny suggested that his mother Angie die!
Patrick claimed he decided not to go ahead with this ending because it was “too easy” and that he came up with a different ending. No matter how he gets there, I’m pretty sure Patrick will try to kill Angie for running away with Danny. Even if Patrick is buddy-buddy with Danny right now, it’s unlikely that Danny will follow his bio-dad to NYC when he learns both sides of the story. For sure, this won’t have a happy ending!
Sam & Bree
Bravo to Orson for showing to Bree that Sam may not be as white as snow and that he may be the one who switched the Cherry for vinegar. We may not know his ultimate plan yet but one thing is certain, Sam wanted Andrew totally out of the picture so he (Sam) could claim Bree’s throne. Good thing that Orson and Bree patched things up a few weeks back so she would believe his theory, eh? With May Sweeps just around the corner, Sam will more than likely get more devious to reach his ultimate goal.
Money, money, money
Susan was right when saying to Mike that they vowed to support one another through tough times. Why is Mike so narrow minded about Susan giving him money? After all, he would give her money if she needed it. Mike lying to Susan about his real money problems and having Carlos lend him the money can only end badly. Susan will more than likely find out and will be hurt that Mike wouldn’t trust her and tell her the truth. Is the couple heading towards another divorce? I hope not as we’ve been there and saw that!
This week’s episode definitely set the tone for the May Sweeps episode: more info about the strangler and maybe another attempt to murder someone, Patrick’s revenge, Sam’s ultimate goal, Susan and Mike’s money and couple problems. Action packed episodes are definitely coming our way! And it wouldn’t be surprising if Lynette gives birth by the season finale.
Before going on a short hiatus, Desperate Housewives treated
us with a so-so episode. This week’s episode introduced an almost unrecognizable Julie Benz as stripper Robin (see above), whom Susan takes under her wing; offered us a funnily stinky performance from Frasier‘s Jane Leeves, which helped Tom and Lynette grow as a couple; put Angie and the Solises at odds as Danny and Ana were ready to take their relationship to the next step; and had the Bree-Orson storyline take a turn that I’m not enjoying at all.

Bree and Orson
If you are a regular reader of my DH reviews, it will be no surprise to you that I hated the way things turned out between Orson and Bree. I don’t wish any character’s (or real person’s) death, but, as I’ve pointed many times since last season, Orson needs to go. NOW! The writers wrecked his character last season and they are not doing better this season. I’ve went from a Bree/Orson shipper to despising Orson.
At the beginning of this week’s episode, I was glad to see that Orson may be finally written out of the show, as he was getting more and more annoying. Orson’s character has changed so much that he makes Bree less interesting and their storylines are some of the worst of the show lately! I’m even finding myself enjoying the Susan storylines better!!!
Sadly for me, Bree saw that she did truly want to give her couple another chance and convinced Orson not to commit suicide. If it weren’t for the fact that I review the show for TV Squad, I think I would tape the show and fast forward through the Hodges’ upcoming storylines. I have very little faith that the writers will find a way to make Bree and Orson be interesting to watch. They did such a poor job with Orson that it will take a miracle to make him appealing again! Too bad, because I enjoy Kyle MacLachlan as an actor and I think the only way Bree can be an interesting character again is to get rid of Orson.
Ana and Danny
The young couple’s storyline was not that original. However, it helped push the Bolens’ mystery a bit further. We didn’t get any new intel on the Bolen mystery except the “It’s what Patrick used to say./We don’t talk about Patrick anymore” dialogue between Angie and Nick.
What the Ana-and-Danny-shouldn’t-have-sex storyline allowed is for other characters to learn that the Bolens were hiding something. This time, it was Gaby and Carlos’ turn to learn that there may be something fishy. From the looks of it, and knowing how Gaby is, I wouldn’t be surprised if she discovers the truth.
Ana may be Carlos’ niece, but she so resembles Gaby, eh? I’m sure if Gaby were the one who was offered a check to not have sex that she would have accepted it, too, and had sex anyway. I foresee Ana forging Gaby’s signature to cash in the money sooner than graduation. Ana is clearly no angel, she doesn’t want people telling her what to do, and will surely want the money to buy herself some clothes that she isn’t allowed to wear, or gadgets, etc.
Susan and Robin
Susan. Susan. Susan. Once again, Susan acted/talked before thinking. Her actions this week were thoughtful as she tried to help ex-stripper Robin get a better life for herself. However, Susan, once again, didn’t see the flaws in her plan before putting things in motion.
Susan is so naive at times. She must be wearing invisible rose-colored glasses because it was extremely predictable that hiring Robin as a teaching assistant wouldn’t work out in the end. But the worst decision Susan made this week was to have Robin move in!
It’s great that she wants to help Robin, but having her move in will only bring troubles. How will the Wisteria Lane residents react to having an ex-stripper live near by? I’m sure the Scavo teens and Danny will love having such a beautiful young woman around! MJ is clearly smitten by Robin, which will more than likely make Susan jealous as he’ll start to hang out with her more than with his mom. Plus, even if Mike doesn’t seem interested in Robin, he did admit that she was good looking. I wouldn’t be surprised if Susan, or other Housewives, think that Robin and Mike have a thing behind Susan’s back.
Will Susan ever learn to think things through?
Tom and Lynette
I didn’t care much for their first scenes this week because they didn’t bring anything new, as both were still complaining about the other. However, things took a fun and “stinky” turn when Tom and Lynette went to Dr. Graham’s play! OMG! Jane Leeves was so funny to watch as she portrayed the therapist giving an extremely bad performance as Cleopatra!
I was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events. I expected Tom and Lynette to go back to their therapist and have Lynette admit to Dr. Graham that her performance sucked. However, I never expected the Scavos to have the breakthrough that they had! Wow! It was fantastic to see Tom and Lynette finally be truthful to one another about the good cop/bad cop thing. The Scavos are such a great couple. It will be interesting to see their new dynamic as Tom tries to take on the bad cop role while Lynette sits back and relaxes in the good cop role.
Roy
I may blame the writers for wrecking Orson, but I can admit that they did very good with Roy. I’m sure Orson Bean wasn’t set to recur so often, but he is a joy to watch as cynical Roy. They definitely gave Roy the best line of the episode: “At my age, it’s just a short-time loan.”
Let’s hope that we see more of Roy and McCluskey in the future! How about giving them their own storyline?
What did you think of the episode? Share your theories and thoughts in the comments section below. The show is going on a short hiatus, and the next new episode will air on February 21.
Watch “The Glamorous Life” Episode here
Desperate Housewives started out with a bit of a surprise – at least for me. Julie Meyer’s ex-boyfriend/neighbor Nick met when Nick asked Julie to tutor his son, Danny. A chance encounter at a cafe led to hours of conversation and an affair. After a close call with a pregnancy scare – Julie ended things with Nick. Nick refuses to let go and pays Julie a visit. Lanette interrupts Julie and Nick arguing when Julie confesses to Lanette that Nick is “the guy”. Lanette’s reaction was funny – asking Julie why she told her. She didn’t need to know Nick was ” the guy” – now she feels obligated to tell Susan but promises not to.
Lanette confronts Nick and tells him to stop bothering Julie. Nick threatens Lanette that if anyone finds out about him and Julie she is going to be sorry. Lanette and Tom tell Julie that they think Nick is the person who strangled her and go to the police and tell them also.

Angie confronts Nick about his affair with Julie. Since Angie and Nick are stuck together she tells him she is giving him a pass – just this once. And then punches him in the nose telling him “now they’re okay”.
Gaby is still struggling with home schooling Juanita. Carlos offers up help – a housekeeper. Gaby would prefer to clean the toilets than tutor Juanita – toilets don’t talk back. Carlos comes home to a messy home but a happy child who knows fractions (thanks to the housekeeper). Carlos has the housekeeper fired but Gaby finds her cleaning another house and convinces her to tutor Juanita. In exchange Gaby mops the floors. Carlos finds out that the housekeeper is Juanita’s tutor and Gaby confesses that the home schooling is ruining her relationship with Juanita.
Mike and Susan try to convince the police to look into the possibility of Catherine strangling Julie. The person that looks into the case is an old classmate of Susan’s who seems to be a bit of jealous of Susan’s life. It turns out that Susan gave the policewoman her high school nickname, Moose. She ends up arresting Susan for “accidentally” shooting Catherine.
Orson and Bree begrudgingly go to Angie and Nick’s house for dinner. Angie and Nick invited them over because Angie wants to work for Bree. Bree says no and the evening goes downhill from there. When a prospective customer comes in wanting “simple” food – Bree offers them Italian food. Bree requests the recipe from Angie and Angie gives them to her under duress but tells her not to share the recipe. Angie walks in on Bree cooking her recipes, gets mad – and takes the recipes back. Bree apologizes to Angie and asks her to work for her.
Angie asks Bree why she doesn’t like her – to which Bree responds that she doesn’t know how to handle someone who is as candid as Angie is and who fights with her husband in front of people. After their candid conversation – Angie agrees to work for Bree.
Another great episode of Desperate Housewives – be sure to come back tomorrow for Have U Heard’s interview with Marcia Cross – who admits to not being anything like Bree.
The moral lesson of the week, peeps, is the concept of judgment: how to judge someone, being judged, and how you handle each position of the fence were all at play this last night on Wisteria Lane. I have always loved how Desperate Housewives starts my week off with a moral lesson, which I kind of look at as Sunday school with a bit of dressing up. Anyway, let’s get down to it.
Mommie Dearest
During a play date at Gaby’s house, one of Juanita’s friends named Rachel is “injured” while sliding down the steps in a suitcase with Juanita. Rachel’s mother, Laura (guest star Barbara Aly Woods), is none too pleased about Gaby’s role as a mother. She declares that Gaby is a bad mother after Gaby is nonchalant about the incident and de-invites Rachel from Juanita’s birthday party. Thus, the seeds are laid for social hierarchy in these little girl’s lives.
